Endemic Life Researcher is an NPC in Monster Hunter World (MHW). NPCs are non-playable characters that interact with the Hunter during the story or optional activities in game.
A cheerful woman, archiving her research on the creatures most other people tend to forget when hunting large monsters. She asks the Hunter for help in finding certain species for her studies.
When choosing a destination from the map, make sure there is "Endemic Life Researcher" in the Field Researcher section. She then appears on the map and minimap as a green dot.

Quests & Services
Talking to the Endemic Life Researcher on the field unlocks Critical Bounties, which then appear in the Resource Center in Astera and Seliana .
About the Endemic Life Researcher
No one surpasses this passionate scientist in knowledge and techniques for catching endemic life. She is one of those responsible for compiling data for the endemic life field guide, and she herself is in charge of smaller animals and insects. She sometimes becomes too engrossed in her observations and forgets to report to Astera, leading to a scolding by the Lynian Researcher. Apparently, her excuse is "I can't take my eyes off these ants".
- Endemic Life Researcher is the leader of the 3 researchers, but let the other 2 do as they please with their research. Lynian Researcher praises her for this.
- Actually, she is the next head of a certain distinguished family. She joined the Fourth Fleet along with two attendants.
- She gives information on some Endemic Life relative to the area she's in when talked to casually.

New Piscine & Endemic Life Researcher Critical Bounties for Iceborne

The Endemic Life and Piscine Researchers both have new Critical Bounties with the addition of Iceborne. Some of theirs is related to the rare endemic species, so if you are aiming for completing the PS4 Trophies, I'd suggest you unlock these as well to knock out two birds with one stone. They will have new quests in the Hoarfrost Reach and the various other locales as well.
For the two Critical Bounties related to rare Endemic Life, it will help for you to gather all of the new canteen ingredients in order to get the Felyne Zoomaster Food Skill , which makes rare endemic life spawn more frequently. To do so, you need to get the Flourishing Butterbur and Flourishing Frozen Foliage ingredients, as well as complete all of the Canteen optional quests and deliveries. For the large gold crown size endemic life / fish, Felyne Macrozoologist is the skill you'll need. It's a daily Felyne skill though.
When trying to find the researchers, make sure that on the map, there is an exclamation mark next to their name on the overview before you go on an expedition - that indicates whether or not they'll have a critical bounty for you to complete. For each of the Gold Crown Endemic Life bounties, if you had caught one of the endemic life species they're requesting before, the researcher will leave a note in your journal to give you tips as to when a gold crown is more likely to spawn. These critical bounties will require a LOT of patience and moving around between maps. If you haven't gotten all the Flourishing Canteen ingredients (from the base game), now would be a good time to do so!
Second tip: while you're hunting for the new endemic life, go for the Treasure Swaps and Lynian Researcher Photo Requests in each region.
EDIT: According to /u/ Aris1303 , you get a Celestial Wyverian Print for completing all of the Piscine Researcher Requests, and another one for completing all of the Endemic Life Researcher requests. A lot of the rewards for these bounties are currently (really cute) room rewards. If someone else has completed them all, let me know if there's a final reward!
While you're switching between zones, something else to consider is to capture the new rare Endemic Species if you haven't found them yet:
Lastly, if you haven't gathered all the other Flourishing Ingredients, or the base game Piscine and Endemic Life Research requests, now would be a good time to do so as well.

As for other things to keep you busy, if you haven't completed these Flourishing items:
And if you haven't completed these base game Critical Bounties:
Note that I'm still working through the above list in my post. I only have completed the Gold Crown Duffel Penguin, Gold Crown Glass Paraxus, and the Gold Crown Whetfish. I haven't gotten the:
Gold Crown Augurfly
Gold Crown Burst Arowana
Gold Crown Dapper Coralbird
Goldgleam Macaque
Wintermoon Nettle
Sealord's Crest
If anyone has any tips on the gold crown endemic life I have left, that'd be cool! They've been a major pain in my side for the past week.
I just found an endemic life in the guiding lands that gave me an achievement. Ach is called 'Deft Digger', and was unlocked when i captured a 'Moly', which i found in area 8, the wildspire zone, on the far left of the area on a hill, there were some small, vole like animals digging around and stick their heads up out of the ground.
JSYK, the arrowhead gecko will appear whenever there's a flourishing account item on the map, and it will guide you to the special account item.
Say what, excuse me, that’s what they’re pointing at?!
It should be noted that the info they give you only makes it easier to catch gold crowns, and is not necessary. Caught my gold crown augur during a daytime acid rain. Gotta keep throwing those nets when you see them.
Seconding this - just caught a gold crown Whetfish in the pool behind the shipwreck camp in Hoarfrost. Middle of the day, no special weather conditions.
Caught a gold crown Glass Parexus in the same spot about 30 seconds later. Either I got stupidly lucky, or the Feline Zoomaster food skill also affects gold crowns (not just rare species).
The timing on this post couldn't literally be more perfect. I found this through Google of all things.
I finished a bunch of critical bounties (mostly world's leftovers) and I started to get the IB ones and wanted some help.
Many thanks my dude! Awesome job!
Oh great! I'm glad it's helping someone :) I'm in the same boat, I mainly just focused on hunting monsters and let the various side quests, special assignments, and missions fall to the wayside in the game because I didn't care enough. Now that I've got Iceborne, and comparing what I have to others, I realized I'm super behind! I just got all the Flourishing Ingredients, all the available Poogie outfits, and am working through the base game's critical bounties now, along with the new critical bounties as well. It's definitely tedious, but I wish you luck in completing this all!
Regarding the Arrowhead Gecko, WW is the most common, but here are other areas. Ancient Forest, river between Camp 11 and Area 12 (Where the rocks hang) and Rotten Vale, Area 1 near where you jump off into Area 6. I got these while looking for the gold crown Augurfly. So their appearance scenarios may be related.
Regarding the Gold Crown Duffel Penguin, when you don't see them at their usual cliff side location in Area 7 of Hoarfrost Reach. At the same spot, there is cliff just below the cliff that they huddle under. You can capture them there as well. Got the Gold Crown this way.
Regarding Whetfish, you can capture (if you lazy) or fish these at most of the same locations you can get the Burst Arowana. Got my Gold crown from the Rotten Vale spot just outside Camp 11.
Nicely done on the information though; needed the remaining.
Arrowheads appear in every zone when there is a flourishing or upsurge of canteen harvest stuff (mushrooms, fossils, beryl ect.) and they'll always appear near and lead you to a special node that will only appear during those upsurges. It's a guaranteed spawn every time.
I completed all the fishing bounties, and the piscine researcher give me a celestial wyverian print.
Ah I figured it'd be a Celestial Wyverian print. I'll update that in a bit.
Psstt.... any tips for hunting gold crown fishies? Not sure if there are locations that are better suited for certain fishes to get their gold crowns.
Is there a Great version of the new glass parexus fish?
I've completed all them from both researchers. Each one gives you a Celestial Print, but that's it- no final reward.
Damn. Any tips on the Dapper Coralbird, Burst Arowana, and Augurfly? They’re killing me
Thanks for this. Just finishing up Guiding Lands, and was planning on this next.
Woah! Awesome job dude, thanks for all these precious infos.
Just wanted to thank you for the super useful info, it will come very handy when trophy hunting!

Monster Hunted World: Iceborne Submerged Mystery Achievement Guide | Sealord’s Crestfish Location

- September 6, 2019
Just like in Monster Hunter World, Iceborne has a bunch of mystery pets and fish for players to find across the map to add to their collections.
These creatures are usually rare spawns, and the one we are going to search for today is no exception. We are going to show you exactly how to get the Achievement “Submerged Mystery” which is a secret achievement that can be completed by completing the mission “Capture a mysterious creature lurking beneath the water’s surface.”
To do this, you need to find the Sealord’s Crestfish, a large fish that can be located only at night in the Hoarfrost Reach. You can find it in the pool of area 8 at times if you are lucky and can’t miss it. It is a large fish, larger than anything else you can see in the pool, with a strange shark-like fin sticking up out of the water.
Finding it when it spawns is easy, but catching it is hard. You will need to go through a series of mini-games and test your nerve not to scare it off. If you do, you will need to repeat the whole process and pray you to find it another time.
Considering it can take hours at a time to come across this fish, don’t do anything stupid and be sure you are ready before you try to capture it. You only have one shot.

Monster Hunter World Iceborne Rare Endemic Life Capture: Where to Find Rare Endemic Life for Trophies and Achievements
One of the key aspects to Monster Hunter: World's, err, world was how depending on the time of day or the weather each area could house entirely different small creatures, including some Rare Endemic Life that would only appear during very specific circumstances. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne continues this trend, and adds quite a few new Rare Endemic Life to both its new maps as well as already existing ones. If you're aiming to unlock all of the trophies or achievements in Iceborne, you're going to need to catch all of these - so we've taken the time to catalog where each and every one of these creatures can be found, and how to capture them.
Note: Both the Goldspring Macaque and the Sealord's Crest are also Bounties for the Endemic Life Researcher and the Piscine Researcher respectively. It's recommended that players accept those two bounties first before actively searching for these two trophies.
Felyne Zoomaster is Your Friend

First things first, however - gather all of the new Drink canteen ingredients before heading out on the hunt for some of these creatures. The Felyne Zoomaster Food Skill, which can only be activated by eating a meal filled with Trailblazer food items, makes Rare Endemic Life spawn more frequently, and is the key to making your life a whole lot easier. You'll want to forage Butterbur and Frozen Foliage gathering spots in the Hoarfrost Reach for Rare, Super Rare, and Upsurge-only drops - as well as complete all of the Canteen optional quests and deliveries. Do that, and you should have all the Canteen items to you need to eat a meal with the skill. Make sure to spend a voucher to ensure that the skill will activate before heading out! For "Upsurge-only" drops, check that the gathering point that you're targeting is either "Flourishing" or on an "Upsurge" on the World Map before heading out.
Golden Gleam - Goldspring Macaque

By far the easiest Rare Endemic Life to capture in Iceborne - especially if you check during the "Pearl Snatchers" Event Quest! Check Area 2 in the Hoarfrost Reach during the day, and if you're lucky enough to find one, it'll be hanging out on the rock platform in the middle of the hot spring. No Ghillie Mantle required - he's easy enough to just bag, as even when he starts running away, it's very slowly.
Friendly Pointer - Arrowhead Gekko

This one can be found in every map, apparently, but it's also seemingly a guaranteed - or near-guaranteed - spawn in the Event Quest, "The Lord of the Underworld Beckons". Drop down from the Central camp, head into Area 10, and hug the left wall with your Ghillie Mantle on. You'll spot the Gekko before it'll dash up a wall. Follow it, and you'll find it "pointing" at one of the objectives for the quest, an Underground Fruit gathering point. Nab it with your Capture Net. If the Event Quest isn't in rotation while you're searching for it, just repeat these steps a few times and hopefully you'll find it.
Sweet Melody - Blue Diva
This one will occasionally spawn at the very top of the Wildspire Waste, around Area 5, during the day and when the weather is Clear. If it's currently spawned, it'll sit at roost on a perch near a nest just below the hill's peak. Startle it and it'll begin flying around - you'll need to practice some dexterity to capture it in mid-air, but don't worry too much; it just continues to fly around in circles, so you should manage it eventually. If you need help discerning its location, we've made a short video showing the path to its location, embedded above. Apparently, it can also spawn in the Ancient Forest and the Coral Highlands, so if you've managed to find it there - please let us know in the comments!
Submerged Mystery - Sealord's Crest

Despite what the Piscine Researcher might lead you to believe, the best way to catch this fish is in Area 8 of the Hoarfrost Reach, during the night. If it spawns, it'll be in the lake. It should be obvious to spot - its fin will be sticking out of the water, with a very distinct shape. You should probably bring Baitbugs to lure it to you.
Celestial Illusion - Wintermoon Nettle

This one is probably the trickiest to find. Not only will it only spawn at the Hoarfrost Reach's summit - an area that many players are undoubtedly going to miss - but it also only spawns on clear nights when the swarms of Moon Slugs aren't hanging around the caves. Spawn into the Northeast Camp, and immediately look upwards toward's the peak - give it a few seconds, but it should be obvious if it's up there. If it is, make the trek up the mountain and capture it. It'll circle above the highest point of the summit with the three mining outcrops eventually. No Ghillie Mantle required - it doesn't even have eyes. Just throw your Capture Net at it. If you need help making it up to it in the first place, you can check out our guide on how to reach the summit.
Deft Digger & Creatures of the Earth - Moly & Rocky Moly

These two trophies require multiple steps, and quite a bit of work - you'll need to track down Moly in each of the four regions found in The Guiding Lands, and then capture a Rocky Moly. Check out our dedicated Moly guide to figure out where they'll spawn, and how to capture them.
...and that's it! Iceborne somehow managed to add even more Rare Endemic Life trophies than the basegame, and some of them are absolutely brutal to find in the first place. Hopefully this helps with your trophy/achievement collecting, and Happy Hunting!
